Hi Gents,
Been a few months since I last sought your help, havnt had any problems until now!

The problem being One shot mode in the loop editor.Trying to map a new drum kit and no matter what I do can not get samples to one shot.
Comparing the new kit with an old (working) one reveals absolutly no difference in settings i.e. loop 1 start 0 until max length. Tell it to one shot and sample will only play when key held down stopping when key released.
Driving me up the wall!!
Anybody got any pointers.

Check in the manual on the topic of envelopes. I think if you have an envelope running, it will override the one-shot setting.

You can also try changing the MIDI channel to 10, which is the default MIDI channel for drums.

I've never used Kontakt to edit samples. But I have noticed that a editor will use/default to the last loaded type of loop.

Here's my idea, Import you sample, make sure it has no dead air up front and no air on the end. Then do a save as and select one shot. If you building a drum map don't forget to set the note for your one shot sample.

Since I've never used Kontakt you might need to load a drum map template before beginning a set. I use Soundforge or Awave to map my sets. But Kontakt is a very powerfull app and should have all the tools you'll need to do the job.

If by chance your just building a new drum map using pre edited samples you'll only need to save as type to complete the task.

Love to make that music,as well I love to tweak,Make my own sample sets

Hi Gents,
Thanks for your input. All sorted. Do not know why but when starting new instrument 'modulation' is enabled (thou minimised)(adsr). Now pressing the bypass button gave me the one shot ability. Try it (K4)! Anyway, nothing in the manual points the way. So it would seem that an adsr evelope can not be applied to a one shot. Is this correct?? Seems strange.
Cheers Bill

Not absolutely sure, but yes, I think that's correct.

Glad you got it fixed... that's what counts.

Thanks Scott,
Should I need to modify envelope (adsr) possibly use an insert Modulator. Yes it seems that adsr can not be enebled within the sampler engine for one shot notes.
Not a problem now. Use Kontakt maily for drums with any effects added in Sequencer.
Cheers,
Billyboy
