A sparkling and evocative love story about the intersecting lives of three women, the award-winning romantic drama TRU LOVE debuts across all digital platforms including iTunes and WolfeOnDemand beginning Oct. 7, before making its DVD debut Nov. 4 from Wolfe Video. Written and directed by the first-time feature filmmaking team of Kate Johnston and Shauna MacDonald, TRU LOVE stars Shauna MacDonald (Undercover Brother), Kate Trotter (TV’s “Covert Affairs”) and Christine Horne (Margarita).
Named one of top ten films of 2013 by Huffington Post UK, during its run on the film festival circuit, TRU LOVE has taken home ten awards, including numerous Best Feature and Best Actress awards. The acclaimed lesbian romance follows Tru (MacDonald), a 37-year-old bed-hopping lesbian who becomes unexpectedly smitten with Alice (Trotter), an elegant 60-year-old who has come to town to visit her daughter. Sparks fly as Alice and Tru develop an unlikely friendship … and more.
Bonus materials include deleted scenes and the 15-minute short film STORMCLOUD, a dramatic comedy written and directed by Kate Johnston that explores the nature of “sin” and love with passion, pathos and very subversive humor. The story follows a young, lesbian artist, heartbroken after her lover has left her, who is met by two very happy Evangelicals who arrive at her door selling Jesus.
