 The harrowing journey to freedom along the Underground Railroad continues when the critically acclaimed drama, UNDERGROUND: SEASON TWO, debuts on DVD July 11 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Season Two continues to draw inspiration from America’s historical roots, bringing pioneering hero and infamous conductor, Harriet Tubman (Aisha Hinds, TV’s “True Blood”), to life along with renowned abolitionist Frederick Douglass (John Legend). In one of history’s greatest escape stories, the Macon 7 face endless challenges in their dangerous escape to freedom within a divided America on the brink of civil war. As tensions rise and risks are taken, will they be able to make it to safety or will their plans go up in flames?WGN America’s original series stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell (TV’s “Friday Night Lights”), Aldis Hodge (Straight Outta Compton), alongside Jessica De Gouw (Dracula), Alano Miller (TV’s “Jane The Virgin”), Amirah Vann, and Christopher Meloni (TV’s “Law & Order: SVU”). UNDERGROUND: SEASON TWO was created by Misha Green (TV’s “Sons of Anarchy”) and Joe Pokaski (TV’s “Heroes”) who also executive produce alongside Academy Award® winner Akiva Goldsman (2001, Best Adapted Screenplay, A Beautiful Mind) of Weed Road Pictures, Joby Harold (Edge of Tomorrow) and Tory Tunnell (Holy Rollers) of Safehouse Pictures and Anthony Hemingway (TV’s “The Newsroom”), Mark Taylor (TV’s “MadTV”), John Legend, Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius of Get Lifted Film Co. UNDERGROUND: SEASON TWO contains all ten episodes in a three-disc DVD set with a gag reel and deleted scenes. In addition, and available for a limited time only, a multi-season DVD set will also be available June 11. The 6-disc DVD package includes all 20 episodes from Seasons One and Two with three behind-the-scenes featurettes, audio commentaries and original camera tests from Season One. Also included are deleted scenes from Season Two and gag reels from both seasons. Synopsis: With the country on the brink of Civil War, the struggle for freedom is more dangerous than ever.
