EZWatch Pro: Video Surveillance
"Many small businesses and homeowners have long wanted to install video surveillance but couldn't afford to spend thousands of dollars on complicated systems. Now they have an alternative -- one that is easier to use, makes clearer recordings, and costs a fraction of the price of a traditional video surveillance system.
Digital video surveillance is quickly becoming the gold standard for home and office security, thanks to its simplicity, affordability and quality. Systems like the EZWatch Pro by Automated Video Systems, LLC start at under $400 and can run up to sixteen cameras from one Windows-based PC. Cameras can be set to record continuously; only at predetermined times; or when they detect movement. Video is saved to the PC's hard drive, which typically holds up to 60 days' worth of video. Recorded clips are viewable from any PC with Windows Media Player, making remote video surveillance easy.
"EZWatch Pro is one of the most user-friendly but powerful video surveillance systems ever developed," explained Scott McQuarrie, president of Automated Video Systems. "In minutes, a PC novice can configure the recording and operation of the system, easily setting the recording functions, motion detection, playback and remote viewing options for each camera. The EZWatch Pro's smart search feature lets the user quickly review video clips to find an event and then print the image or save the entire clip to a file, hard drive, CD or floppy. It's bringing video surveillance to a whole new market that has needed this capability for a long time." Click here for more information.

U-Key-Com FIDA USB 2.0 Flash Drive with Fingerprint ID Authentication

"Think Computer Products announced the launch of the U-Key-Com FIDA Drive, a USB 2.0 portable flash storage device that incorporates a fingerprint sensor for access to the secure storage partition. The FIDA drive has several distinct features that set it apart from the competition.
The drives range in capacity from 64Mb to 2Gb, while a 4Gb is planned for release in Q1 2004. The unit is initialized by an administrator, and supports up to 16 separate fingerprints, providing access for multiple users at the discretion of the administrator. The drive features two partitions; one is public and can be read from any system with a USB port, while the other sector is secure, requiring fingerprint authentication to access the data.
The administrator can adjust the capacity of the public and secure sectors based on preference; the administrator may opt to reduce the secure sector from 50% to 20% for example. To further secure the data, the drive uses AES based encryption ("Rjandel") providing encryption/decryption "on-the-fly."
