If you’re on the hunt for a handheld vacuum that handles pet hair well, the Jimmy JV35 is worth considering. It combines strong suction with sanitizing technologies designed to remove hair, dust and dust mites, dander and even microscopic allergens deeply embedded in a mattress and other fabric-covered furniture around the home. This isn’t intended to replace your main vacuum, but it works perfectly as a secondary tool for stairs, upholstery, mattresses, and other above-floor cleaning jobs. First Impressions This is the second Jimmy product I’ve had the chance to review, so I expected a well-designed and thoughtfully packaged device—and that’s exactly what I found. Setup was effortless; I had it running within minutes. Packaging The JV35 comes in a sturdy, medium-sized box. It’s not tiny since the vacuum arrives fully assembled, but everything is securely fitted to keep it safe in transit.  What's In The Box  * Jimmy JV35 handheld vacuum * Extra filter * Brush tool for cleaning the roller * Instruction pamphlet Because it’s a simple, compact machine, you don’t really need to study the manual before getting started. Setup & Size  No assembly is required. Just pull it out of the box, plug it in, and it’s ready to go—the filter is already installed. The vacuum measures about 14.5" long, 8.8" tall, and has a brush roll nearly 10" wide. At 7.3 lbs, it’s light enough for most people to carry easily, making it practical for furniture and other elevated areas. Keep in mind, though, this is strictly a handheld device. Using it as your only vacuum would be impractical unless you enjoy crawling around on the floor. Key Advantage What sets the JV35 apart is that it’s not just a vacuum. Alongside its powerful 700W motor, it features heat and UV technology to sanitize surfaces and kill dust mites.  * Heat cleaning: Blows air up to 140°F (60°C) to kill mites, disinfect fabrics, and help to remove moisture to avoid the regrowth of mites. * UV light: Claimed to eliminate 99.99% of bacteria. * Brush roll: Collects pet hair efficiently while preventing static so dust doesn’t cling to fabrics. The brush roller can also perform high-frequency tapping to draw out dust mites and debris from fabrics. Then the 14kpa suction power removes them efficiently. You can select between three operating modes at the push of a button: 1. Suction + UV light 2. Suction + brush roll 3. Suction + brush roll + UV light Keep in mind, the UV light will only turn on when the vacuum is flat against a surface; tilting it beyond 30 degrees automatically shuts it off as a safety precaution. Regular upkeep includes emptying the bin, washing the filter, and keeping the roller free of tangled hair. A cleaning brush is included for this purpose.  Filters and the bin should be rinsed every couple of weeks. Make sure the filter dries for at least 24 hours before reuse—thankfully, a spare is provided so you don’t have to wait.   Hands-On Experience I expected to like this vacuum since I already trust the Jimmy brand, but I ended up being more impressed than anticipated. Even my friend (a cleaning professional), who is used to handling many different vacuums, found it effective enough to consider buying one herself. I especially enjoyed how versatile it was—I could use it on stairs, couches, chairs, and even the bed. Cleaning the unit after each use was easy, and I prefer to keep the bin spotless rather than let dust linger inside.  Price The Jimmy JV35 typically retails for $150 (although you can occasionally find limited time deals – see links below), which is quite reasonable compared to upright or canister models from larger brands. Just remember, this is a companion vacuum, not a replacement for a full-sized one. Final Thoughts The Jimmy JV35 is a compact yet powerful little vacuum that’s great for deeper cleaning on upholstery, mattresses, and stairs. With its heat and UV technology, it does more than just collect dust—it sanitizes surfaces too. Easy to use, lightweight, and well-priced, it’s a practical addition to any household cleaning routine.
