DAZ 3D, a leading global provider of 3D software and 3D models announced their release of Victoria 7, the latest edition in a line of the most successful and widely used female 3D figures in the world to the DAZ Marketplace.

Victoria 7 is even more realistic and life-like than ever before and has been developed to be more compatible with other 3rd party professional level applications. This is possible due to Victoria 7 being built on DAZ 3D’s new Genesis 3 technology, which leverages Pixar style subdivision and HD morphs to deliver a figure with significantly higher definition than Genesis 2 figures, but with almost 20% lower poly counts which means faster figure manipulation and rendering, in addition to the increased fidelity.

Some key advancements in Victoria 7 include: more details in the mouth, teeth and gums compared to previous versions of Victoria. Details on her hands and feet such as modeled-in nail beds for both fingers and toes and expanded rigs for metacarpals and metatarsals. A facial rig has also been added that allows 33 times more points of articulation than the previous morph technology to provide amazing expression creation capabilities.

“The team at DAZ 3D is dedicated to delivering the most real to life, believable and dynamic characters available. Genesis 3, and more specifically Victoria 7 absolutely personifies that goal. The addition of a facial rig brings a whole new level of expressiveness to our figures. Add to that the advancements in nail beds, mouth and teeth, and you’re just adding icing to an already impressive cake,” said Brian Howell, Vice President of Production.

With Victoria 7 being based on Genesis 3, customers also get the advantages of dual quaternion skin-binding, non-triangle meshes, an optional lower resolution figure and UDIM standard UV's. Most of these advancements re intended specifically for increased compatibility with other industry-standard 3D applications (e.g. 3D Studio Max, Maya, Lightwave, etc.), creating a versatile 3D model that can be used across multiple platforms.

“Reception has already been great, with our worldwide network of hundreds of top artists already clamoring to produce additional hair, clothing, poses and props for her. Obviously part of their excitement is also the increased compatibility with other professional 3D applications in the industry. We couldn’t be happier with Victoria 7, our flagship product. We really think consumers will be blown away,” continued Howell.
