REVIEW: Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music I'm too young to have been at Woodstock and my parents (while at the right age) weren't part of the hippie, druggie, peace crowd, so I have no direct experience with the event. But as a musician, I'm definitely fascinated by what went on there and of course, by all the great music of the time. It's been called one of the greatest rock concerts of all time and luckily it was turned into a feature documentary film so that everyone could at least see and hear part of the spectacular event. The film was originally released to theaters in 1970. Then in 1994 it was released on DVD as a 25th anniversary Director's Cut. This is the same cut that you'll find on the current Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition, but it's been fully remastered for DVD and (more importantly) high-definition Blu-ray.Woodstock: The Movie Although the box says that the movie is 4-hours long, it's actually 3 hours and 45 minutes, so they were off by 15 minutes in the description. Even so, the coverage of the event is excellent and because of the filming techniques used (split-screen and triple-image composites) there is nearly 8 hours of material here. REVIEW: Dexter: The Complete Second Season When I came across Dexter: The Complete First Season, the premise of a serial killer as a hero kind of put me off. But I like to keep an open mind and so I proceeded to watch the first episode. After that, I was hooked. Why? Well, Dexter is really more of a vigilante assassin (who kills bad people for the common good) rather than a serial killer. Not that vigilantism is a good thing, but it makes for one hell of a crime drama. Plus, the first season really dove right in providing a lot of suspense and mystery, and it also provided very well developed characters and a great storyline. I can easily say that it was one of the best TV series I've seen. As such, I expected the second season to be excellent as well… I wasn't disappointed.The second season starts off with a little over a month passing by since Dexter's run-in with the Ice Truck Killer. With all the press surrounding him, he hasn't been able to resume his favorite pastime, but he finally finds his next target and the killing resumes. This time, however, the table's are turned when someone discovers Dexter's dumpsite.
