Everyone’s favorite socialites are back to their wicked ways as Warner Home Video brings you Gossip Girl: The Complete Fifth Season on DVD September 25. Developed for television by Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Chuck) and Stephanie Savage (The O.C.), Gossip Girl stars many of young Hollywood’s hottest talent: Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Kaylee DeFer with Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle. The five-disc set includes all 24 one-hour episodes from the fifth season and nearly an hour of never-before-seen special features, including two all-new featurettes celebrating the show’s 100-episode milestone, unaired scenes and a gag reel. Gossip Girl: The Complete Fifth Season is priced to own on DVD at $59.98 SRP.

The fifth season opens in Los Angeles, where a suntanned Serena has found the perfect summer job, and Chuck and Nate — who are still on their posh trip around the globe — decide to pay her a visit. Meanwhile, back on the Upper East Side, Blair is still dealing with the fallout from her impossible choice between Prince Louis and Chuck, and Dan’s world is suddenly shattered when he discovers that someone has gone behind his back and found an editor to anonymously publish one of his stories. Terrified of his friends and family reading his brilliant-but-honest critique of New York high society, Dan might not be able to refuse the fame and fortune of a published author. Finally, the surprise return of Serena’s cousin Charlie will threaten to destroy the Van der Woodsen family from within.

The fifth season of Gossip Girl delivered an average of 1.5 million viewers weekly, and continues to reign with young women, ranking as a top show on The CW with females 18-34. The series was nominated for five Teen Choice Awards in 2011, winning three, including Choice TV Show: Drama, Choice TV Actor: Drama (Chace Crawford) and Choice TV Actress: Drama (Blake Lively). In 2011, the show also received a People’s Choice Award nomination for Favorite TV Drama.

Executive produced by Schwartz, Savage, Leslie Morgenstein, Bob Levy and Joshua Safran, the series — based upon the book by Cecily von Ziegesar — is from Fake Empire, Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios.
