New Sony Digital Voice Recorders Sony introduced the UX series of digital voice recorders designed to fit the needs of consumers, professionals and academics who want one device for voice, music and file storage.The ICD-UX70 and ICD-UX80 models record in MP3 stereo for high-quality sound and support MP3 music playback. With ID3 tagging, the recorders display artist and album information. Free Electronics Recycling Through the Mail Free and green. Those are the goals of a pilot program launched by the U.S. Postal Service that allows customers to recycle small electronics and inkjet cartridges by mailing them free of charge. The "Mail Back" program helps consumers make more environmentally friendly choices, making it easier for customers to discard used or obsolete small electronics in an environmentally responsible way. Customers use free envelopes found in 1,500 Post Offices to mail back inkjet cartridges, PDAs, Blackberries, digital cameras, iPods and MP3 players - without having to pay for postage. Postage is paid for by Clover Technologies Group, a nationally recognized company that recycles, remanufactures and remarkets inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges and small electronics. If the electronic item or cartridges cannot be refurbished and resold, its component parts are reused to refurbish other items, or the parts are broken down further and the materials are recycled. Clover Technologies Group has a "zero waste to landfill" policy: it does everything it can to avoid contributing any materials to the nation's landfills. TurboTax Is Open For Business Due to the late passage of federal tax legislation, the Internal Revenue Service will not begin accepting some tax returns until Feb. 11. Despite the delay, TurboTax (R), the nation's leading tax software, is ready to help taxpayers complete and submit their return electronically as early as Jan. 4."TurboTax is open for business. We intend to be the first consumer tax software program to have updated forms reflecting these new tax law changes," said Bob Meighan, certified public accountant and vice president for TurboTax. New JVC HD Everio Camcorders JVC announced a pair of new high definition Everio hard disk camcorders that offer industry-leading picture quality in a dramatically reduced size.
